Yusef Elansari
The man who started it all.
The founder of Knights Basketball.
Big Joe!
The Joe Show!
Yusef Elansari!
Yes the man, the myth, the legend!
Joe is still involved with the team, helping with kit and merchandise, as well as occasionally turning up for a night out on the booze with the boys!
Position: Small Forward/ Shooting Guard
Jersey Number: 10 (the last season he played with the Knights)
Years As A Knight: 4
Nickname: Big Joe
Last seen: Bradford 2004, hung over, exhausted and loud! |
Matt Denyer
Denyer has been a key member of the organisation since day 1! Captaining a team to a championship in his second season and winning MVP in 2000/2001, Matt was a true asset on the court. Off the court however, he is more of a liability than anything else! Known more for draining a pint than for draining a jump shot, Denyer is well known for his lightweight, yet heavy drinking sessions and his abusive tongue. He can be rude, arrogant and abusive, but he is great the way he is and no one would change a thing!
Position: Point Guard
Jersey Number: 15 (the last season he played with the Knights)
Years As A Knight: 3
Nickname: Denyer

Mike Hill
Winkle earned his place in the Knights Hall Of Fame. Not just because he is a former captain and great baller, but because along with fellow Hall Of Famer James Hearn, he took boozing to a new level! In Winchester he would hit it hard, but the Bradford Winkle was a whole different level! In his first year, going home with a nurse and spending the night. The next morning, Winkle was late to the game, the worst part is, he had the kit with him! Chin up! Two years later and Winkle went back to Bradford, got more pissed and even managed to give himself third degree burns in his mouth from flaming sambucas when back in Winch! Winkle, we salute you!
Position: Small Forward
Jersey Number: 11
Years As A Knight: 3
Nickname: Winkle

Olu Taiwo
The Man in the Middle and one of the major keys in the success of the team over the years, Olu is simply dominant in the paint! Collecting more rebounds and blocking more shots than any other player over his many seasons as a Knight, Olu has the ability to turn a game around and shut down the opposition! Also contributing an average of at least 20 points per game, Olu is probably the teams' most valuable player of all time! This team is his baby and he truly is 'The Daddy".
Position: Center
Jersey Number: 12
Years As A Knight: 5
Nickname: The Daddy

James Hearn
Hearny was never the world's best baller, not saying he was crap, but he was no Kobe! However his off court abilities were more than above average! Setting the bar to a level only few have managed to reach, Hearny was a pioneer for Knights boozing! A different breed of baller! While most players spend their time improving their shot or passing, Hearny spent his time at the bars and pubs, drinking, smoking and gambling! Never backing down from a challenge, James took on all comers and to this day is still the most respected drinker in the teams' history!
Position: Power Forward
Jersey Number: 23
Years As A Knight: 3
Nickname: Animal, Hearny

Richard Elliott
Richard Elliott is a key reason to the Knights league title in 1999/2000 and their promotion and second place in 2001/2002. As a player in the first success, Rich was a quick 6'5 guard with a nice outside touch and good court vision. In 2001/2002 however, after a disappointing season, he took the big step back from playing and focused on coaching! Helping develop a bunch of individuals and turn them into a team, Rich was able to help take them higher than they believed possible at the beginning of the season. A great player and a great coach, Rich was a key in turning the team around and helping it stay in tact. Thanks!
Position: Shooting Guard
Jersey Number: 9
Years As A Knight: 3
Nickname: Coach
Last seen: Lecturing in Winchester and Leeds

Stuart Dickenson
The last member of the current Hall Of Fame was vice captain in his second season and played the role of assistant coach in his third. Off the court he was known for his cast iron stomach and inability to get drunk, but his on court story is more interesting! He may not have scored 30 points a night or played big minutes, but the fact is, Stu D is possibly the most passionate player to ever put on a Knights jersey! Known for his defensive chants of 'Hands, Hands, Hands', Stu always made his presence known, whether on or off the court! He is also possibly the best example of how hard work and practice can pay off! With little experience before his first training session, Stu had a long way to go, but over his three seasons, he worked hard and learnt something very few players learn. You don't have to score to be valuable to the team! Stu could hit a jump shot or lay up if needed, but he would rather do the dirty work on the rebounding and defense! In his final season he was out rebounding players a foot taller than him almost every game and his confidence had grown! Stu is in the Hall Of Fame, because he is a true a Knight and is the best example of what the team aims to do first and foremost, and that is accept anyone to try the game and develop them as much as possible!
Position: Power Forward
Jersey Number: 5
Years As A Knight: 3
Nickname: StuD
