Old Boys
This page is dedicated to the boys who have 'Been there, done that', with the Knights over the years. Although this doesn't contain every Knight ever, the site will be expanding soon to accommodate for more retired Knights! Until then, take a look at some of the key players in the development of a great team!

Dean Carey
Dean is a character from the Knights team who would always be found at the side of Matt Denyer, whether it was playing basketball or boozing! Dean was a true player in every sense of the word and was the original winner and inspiration of the now legendary 'Player 69' award! This is one player that never had much trouble scoring on or off the court in his day!

Since traveling Ollie has shown his face many a time in Winchester and is now infamous for his birthday party's in Reading! He has now joined the dark side and is a member of the 'LAPD'! Or whatever the equivalent is in Reading!

Dave Powell
G'd Up Dave was never afraid to be himself, fro his diverse choice in music, to wearing his pants (and basketball shorts) a good 6 to 9 inches below his waste! Over the years he became an awesome rebounder and overall baller! Know back on the mean streets of Pomey dodging drive by's and muggings, Dave is still G'd Up To Da Max!
Position: Power Forward
Jersey Number: 13
Years As A Knight: 3
Nickname: G'd Up Dave
Last Seen: Early 2004 in Guildhall with Mr Mathew Tedds |
Justin Moore
Justin! The man is a straight up legend! Spending almost as much time at Uni as Craig, Justin is one of the hardcore boozing legends of not only the Knights but of the World! He set the standards with his 32 consecutive nights of being wasted. Not just a little drunk, every night he was boozing hard! Hang on, now I understand the 5 years at Uni bit! Anyway, Mr JT finally got his degree and is putting it to good use in his career as a Telephone Market Researcher! Keep up the good work!
Position: Point Gurad
Jersey Number: 32
Years As A Knight: 5
Nickname: Mr JT

Seb Clark
Seb joined the team in his second year at King Alfreds, standing 6'5, he was the tallest player on the team at the time! A raw, uncoached talent, Seb worked hard at his game, improving his shooting, defense and rebounding over his two seasons, so much so that he earned the Most Improved Player in 2002/2003 season and was awarded Knights colours in the same year!
Position: Center
Jersey Number: 45
Years As A Knight: 2
Nickname: Oak Tree
Last Seen: Training with a local team in Essex |
Rich McClenagan
Old Skool joined the team in 2001/2002 and immediately brought experience to a young team! Having played National League previously, Rich was already a solid player who needed little coaching! Putting up consecutive numbers throughout his career on the team, he could have easily have been MVP all three seasons if his University commitments weren't as big! However all that hard work paid off and he now has his degree, so well done Rich!
Position: Small Forward
Jersey Number: 24
Years As A Knight: 3
Nickname: Old Skool
Last Seen: Browsing retirement homes and zimmer frames!!!

Johnny Morris
Jonny Bravo came to the Knights at the start of 2000/2001 with a real desire to just play ball. Never coached and with a street style of his own, Johny would often turn up to training stoned, late or not at all. This lasted for the best part of two seasons. Only in his last season did he get it together and show what a great player he really was. With an awesome mid-long range jump shot and some crazy (and sometimes successful) passes, Johny became a valuable member of the team. Another keen dancer of the Knights, JB also had a unique dress sense. From loud stripey shirts to cords and tweed jacket, Johny was just, well, Johny! Basically, an awesome guy!
Position: Shooting Guard
Jersey Number: 33
Years As A Knight: 3
Nickname: Jonny Bravo
Last Seen: Travelling the world... |
Kev Chase
Kev Chase joined the Knights in 200/2001 and made an immediate impact alongside fellow fresher Craig. He is one of the most talented players to ever play for the team and could hurt his opponents from inside or outside. His game though was as consistant as his mad hair styles which changed weekly, sometimes daily. However in his second season he did score 35 out of the 39 points in the first half of a game for the Knights! From his hair cuts to his longer than long shorts, KC was a character and always managed to disappear towards the end of each season. Where too? No one actually knows! Probably living in shame because his little sister is better than him! Wherever he is, you can be sure his game is still as mad as his hair!
Position: Shooting Guard
Jersey Number: 35
Years As A Knight: 4
Nickname: KC
Last Seen: Ikon/Diva mid 2004 in Southampton with two fine ass ho's!

Ryan Cutting
Wolfy had tried his hand at practically every sport in his 3 years at Uni, all except basketball! So in his third year, this unshaven, short dude walked into the Knights training with almost no basketball experience. By the end of the year he was in the driving seat (literally) and on his way to Bradford to show the world how he had grown as a player! He started three games in the tournament and played his best basketball ever! Go Wolfy, your the driver..
Position: Shooting Guard
Jersey Number:25
Years As A Knight: 1
Nickname: Wolfy, Driver
Last Seen: Somewhere in Europe traveling! |

Matt Philips
Gypo Matt (named so after the heap of junk he used to drive and his roll-ups) joined the Knights in 2001/2002 and immediately showed great potential as a defender and scorer! When he trained and played with the team regularly he was easily on of the best players on the court, but due to his commitments to getting high and pissed he didn't see much court time with the Knights over his three years! Although he may not be remembered as the greatest to ever play for this team, he will always be remembered for his inability to say no to a drinking challenge and for his downing abilities! That is what makes him a true Knight and a selection to the 2002/2003 Drinking Dream Team!
Position: Small Forward
Jersey Number: 14
Years As A Knight: 3
Nickname: Gypo
Last Seen: Off his face in Winchester celebrating his degree!
